Tears of a clown

Last night I put together a clown look to DJ at The Aeronaut, and I managed to snap a few quick photos on my camera before I left! This is the first time I've used my ringlight with my proper camera (rather than my phone!) and I love the way it lights makeup.

For the eyes I decided to do a slightly different shaped cut-crease and clashing colours.

For the crease I used Sugarpill's bulletproof, holy ghost, afterparty, clickbait and tako & lumi for the brow bone. Hi-Viz was used in the inner section of the eye to highlight. 

I lined my bottom lid with NYX Sunrise Blue liner, and used NYX mint julep color mascara on the bottom lashes. Underneath that I used Sugarpill's Penelope and some cheap diamond shaped glitter.

I then lined my top lid with Barry M's blue liquid eyeliner (which I also used for the shapes above my eyebrows) and blue color mascara from NYX. I also used some of Sugarpill's Charmy around the edge of my face along with my usual contour. Finished off with a few diamantes!

The lipstick is a blue from etsy seller FierceMagenta and NYX Pistachio Macaron lipstick.

Miss Miranda for Kultur Magazine

WAAAYYY back in June last year I photographed Miss Miranda's new costume for her 'Santa Pimieñta' burlesque act.

We've had to keep the images somewhat hidden as they were saved for publication - which has finally been released! Miss Miranda has a 6 page interview in Kultur Magazine, featuring the images we shot.

Traje de Luces

For a long time I've wanted to have a Torero (Matador/Toreador, whatever word you use - bullfighters) costume made.

I don't agree with the cruelty of bullfighting, however you must admit that the traje de luces ("suit of lights") are stunning works of fashion art. It's no wonder that the costumes have permeated high fashion (see above) for a long time.

You might remember she made my half-bride half-groom costume for last halloween.

Although this bullfighter costume was made for halloween, I finally just got around to shooting some self portraits of it!

2012 in style through Instagram

Better late than never, right? A rundown of some of my favourite looks this year!

I wanted to do this via instagram (although I only started using Instagram in April) as most of the time I only manage to snap my outfits on there rather than set up a full photoshoot! I'll also do a run-down of my photography during 2012... at some point soon!

April - May

 I've dressed up a lot more in the past few months, mainly due to working at The Burning Beat each Saturday. I think I may have honed my style to be more detailed (and more GOLD), and purchased clothing that works in my "fancy" wardrobe (I have two wardobes!).

This year I hope to add even more detail to my outfits, and work on some headpieces and more extreme makeup!

Happy Halloween!

As you may know, I tend to dress up. While I don't find Halloween particularly sentimental (as I'm British) , I couldn't possibly NOT try and organise an extra-special outfit, could I?

I've actually wanted to do this outfit for some time, but wanted to do it in a particular way. Unfortunately my sewing skills are particularly bad. Luckily, the genius Kirsteen Ross, also known as Boom Boom Baby, came to my rescue. 

The Half Man - Half Woman costume has long been seen on the vaudeville stage, but I was particularly inspired by Zorita's version, which was a raunchier strip-tease. 

I want to, eventually, turn this into an act, so I asked Kirsteen to create the costume in a certain way, so that each piece can be removed.
